### First we will calculate the quantity of 1 cubic metre brickwork volume.

Wet volume = 1m^{3}

Now we have to find out dry volume of the mortar, so we take 1.33 as coefficient of the compressibility in multiplication of its wet volume.

Dry volume = 1.33 * wet volume

### Number of bricks:

Standard modular brick size is 190*90*90 m^{3}

Size of standard modular brick with mortar is 200*100*100 m^{3}

Number of bricks = total volume/ volume of brick with mortar

Hence, volume of brick with mortar is 0.2*0.1*0.1=0.002 m^{3}

We have total volume is 1 m^{3}

therefor, Number of bricks = 1/0.002 =500 no’s.

### Volume of mortar:

#### Volume of mortar = Total volume – (number of bricks * volume of bricks without mortar)

= 1 – (500 * 0.0015) (0.19*0.09*0.09= 0.0015 m^{3})

= 0.25 m^{3}

Therefor, dry volume = 1.34 * 0.25

= 0.335 m^{3}

#### If given mortar ratio is 1:4

Here cement is 1 And sand is 4 in proportions. Sum of ratio will be 5.

### Quantity of cement:

For 1 m^{3} = dry volume of mortar * cement ratio / sum of ratio

= 0.335 * 1 / 5

= 0.067 m^{3}

In KG = 0.067 * unit weight of cement

= 0.067 * 1440

= 98.48 KG

In bags = 98.48 / weight of 1 bag of cement

= 98.48 / 50 = 1.92 i.e. 2 bags.

### Quantity of sand:

For 1 m^{3} = dry volume of mortar * sand ratio / sum of ratio

= 0.335 * 4 / 5

0.268 m^{3}

In weight= 0.268 * unit weight of sand (kg/m^{3})

= 0.268 * 1450

= 388.6 Kg

In cft = 0.268 * 35.31 (1m = 3.281 feet)

= 9.46 cubic feet

#### For 1 m^{3} of brickwork volume, we need 2 bags of cement, 9.46 cubic feet sand and 500 no’s of bricks.
